The Barn on 95, Princeton, Minnesota: Wedding

Jake had just moved up to Minnesota from Illinois, during his senior year of high school and Carrie’s junior year. They ended up being in most of the same classes that year and quickly became best friends with their own secret handshake. Jake no longer could keep Carrie in the friend zone though, and asked her out, but Carrie wasn’t ready for a relationship at that time in her life. Jake continued to ask her out throughout the remainder of the school year, but Carrie kept “friend-zoning” him. It wasn’t until after Jake went to bootcamp that Carrie’s feeling towards him changed and the day he came home to surprise her, they officially started to date.

Last winter, Jake planned to propose to Carrie in the same spot they went on their first date a year prior at Enger Park overlooking Duluth. Following that, they were going to the BentleyVille light show that happens each year in Duluth. Everything was set, but as they neared the park, they saw that the whole park was closed. Jake’s head was spinning. Carrie could sense something was off, but didn’t quite know what. To try to keep everything flowing, they ended up just going down by the lighthouse and hanging out at Canal Street, until the BentleyVille light show opened. After four laps around the park, Jake finally had an alternative proposal plan and got down on one knee in front of the lights to propose. It was a success!

Carrie and Jake started the process of searching for the perfect venue. After touring some venues, they came to The Barn on 95 in Princeton, Minnesota. It was perfect. Providing them with the beautiful outdoor ceremony area among the mature trees, lots of open space for their reception, and an indoor place to dance in the gorgeous barn loft.

Seeing Carrie in her Mom’s wedding dress definitely brought some emotional tears to many, including me. She looked stunning in it. Her bouquet, that Malana Sophia Floral had created, was absolutely gorgeous! The day may have been unusually cold, but it was still gorgeous and the sunset was absolutely spectacular!!! There were so many sweet moments throughout the day, I had a really hard time narrowing down on what ones to share in this post. Enjoy seeing a glimpse of their amazing day!

Carrie and Jake, thank you so much for asking us to capture your love story! What an honor it’s been to be apart of your lives! You two are seriously so laid-back and adventurous! The way you braved the cold and were up for anything was just the best! We are so happy for you both and can’t wait to see what this next chapter holds for your lives as Mr. and Mrs. Krube!
